EDU 334: Introduction to the Education of the Mentally Retarded

Course Description

This course,  SPED/ EDU 334 , focuses on the methods for the education of the mentally retarded and the mild/moderately disabled.  Emphasis is placed on curriculum construction and program development  involving specific objectives and research in teaching and evaluating the educable, trainable and mild/moderate disabled persons.  Some focus is placed on the severely disabled as well.  Current practices and field experiences are an integral part of this course.  Practicum is required.  Prerequisite: SPED/EDU 317 and SPED/EDU 333.  CREDIT: THREE SEMESTER HOURS
